Many officiants use the same script for every wedding they perform. I think your story deserves something better.
It’s common for wedding officiants to use the same scripts for all of their wedding ceremonies—the same openers, the same itinerary, and even the same jokes! That’s because many officiants don't take the time to get to know their couples. And that might work for some people, but I want to offer something more to the couples I work with.
How I write your ceremony.
My ceremonies don’t begin with a template or a script, but instead, at the table. Whether at a bar, a coffee shop, or on a Zoom call, I want to get to know you! What are the stories you still laugh about after all these years? What does the perfect date look like for the two of you? When did you know that you wanted to spend the rest of your lives together? These are the sorts of questions I ask. They help me understand the rhythms of your relationship and help me learn more about your story that deserves to be celebrated.
Customized ceremonies from start to finish.
After we’ve talked about your relationship to the moon and back, we’ll go through the ceremony together. Most couples don’t really know the ins and outs of a wedding ceremony - and I don’t blame them! But now we’re planning for your big day and of course, you want to know what’s going to happen when we get up there! We’ll go through over ceremony piece by piece, from the procession to the rings, all the way to the pronouncing of your marriage, and everything else included in between.
Can I help customize my ceremony?
Of course! As we work through your ceremony together, we’ll go through each piece of a traditional ceremony. I’ll always talk through the question ‘does this work for how you want to celebrate your story?’ with you. This is your big day, and you should get to speak on that. I’ll be there to guide you and give recommendations if you have any ideas, but if you don’t care this way or that, then I’ll make the call for you.
